We’re Heading Into Summer, Baby!
Brighter mornings, lighter evenings, BBQ’s and of course, sunshine! What’s not to love about summer?
Well, let me tell you…daylight saving is not to love!
That pesky hour that changes twice a year and usually just when you thought you were right on track with your baby’s sleep but the worst thing about Spring is that you are potentially losing one of those vital hours!
Don’t Panic!
Firstly, don’t panic…I’ve got your back! It’s only an hour…we’re not travelling around the world but that said, I know it’s annoying and can take a week or so for you to feel back to normal.
Secondly, we have a number of ways in which you can prepare! Also, don’t forget to make sure your little one’s room is dark. Have a read of my blackout solutions blog to make sure you’re doing what you can to prevent that early rising.
Now, I’m sure you’ve heard the saying slow and steady wins the race. If that is usually the case for you, this is your strategy:
If you don’t think you can commit to a 7-day plan, why not try for 4 days:
And if you’ve missed the 4-day boat, you can split the difference over 2 days:
Are you the “fly by the seat of your pants” kind? Just go the whole hog in one day!
And there is always the option to do nothing – this can work well if you don’t mind a shorter evening for yourself and if early rising has been a long-standing bugbear.
Let’s Do This!
Whichever strategy you choose (if any), I’m sure you will do just fine. I like to split the difference over 2 days. I’m a little too lazy (and forgetful) to do anything longer and usually, it works out just fine.
Share this with your friends to help them choose their course of action for the upcoming clock change.
Keep safe and well,
