Meet Katie

 

Even though I, and I’m sure your friends and family, will say ‘I’ve been there…’ it doesn’t really help does it? Sleep struggles are real and they’re hard! Sleep is one of the most important survival needs so when we’re being deprived, it can affect every element of our lives. Let me tell you a little about me and how I can support you and your family get some well-deserved rest!

I am a mother of 3 children, all spirited, but very different from each other. I have a background in retail analytics and mathematics, dealing with logic, patterns and reason to manage and affect required outcomes. After becoming a mother, I was BAFFLED! Where was the logic? Where were the patterns? How could I make sense of all the ‘randomness’ of it all? With each child I only got more confused, each one seemed to ‘break the mould’ so the solution for one didn’t work for the other.

After a baby who was an excellent sleeper but a terrible feeder, came a great eater but one who refused to sleep. I still remember our first full night’s sleep after my second child when she was nearly 3 years old! After having my third baby I was exhausted. In a moment of desperation at 2am (the normal time to start a thorough investigation) I started researching sleep support. All I could think was ‘surely there must be something or someone that could help me!’. I started reading up about sleep and got hooked.

I realised that I didn’t need to suffer. And for the development and emotional health of my baby and family, we all needed to get better sleep.

I am now determined that no family needs to suffer. I am committed to working with families, delving into the potential causes of poor sleep, assessing individual sleep goals and collaborating to try methods and find solutions that are right for everyone.

I look forward to working with you and making life just a little bit better!

When we got in contact with Katie, we were so desperate for help. At 6 months old O was sleeping at night for a maximum of 2 hours at a time, was regularly unsettled and we were really struggling. From day 1, we felt supported and cared for. On each phone call, we made changes, but only to a level that we were comfortable with, and saw a difference in O’s sleep straight away. We had long stretches at night, more relaxed naps, an easier bedtime and a happier mummy and daddy. We are working towards a more structured daytime with Katie’s advice, and it’s going so well. I can safely say that we were so lucky to have found Katie when we did, and I would recommend her to anybody who needs sleep assistance. Thank you for all you did for us!

Thanks to Katie and her gentle support and encouragement I have my evenings back! As my baby is only a few months old, I’m happy with night feeds (for now!) but I can’t stress enough how good it feels to have baby down and have some time to myself. Katie took time to understand what we wanted and tailored her advice to work with us towards those goals. Thank you Katie, and when we are ready we’ll definitely be seeking her advice to get baby sleeping through the night.

Katie was an amazing support. She really took the time to understand the sleep issues I was encountering with my toddler as well as his personality so that she could suggest the right strategies. Katie was very flexible in her approach, ensuring that I was comfortable with our sleep plan. She was proactive in ensuring we had follow-up calls which were always very helpful, and she was always available if I had any questions in between. I am very grateful to Katie for the support she provided and the confidence she gave me to keep communicating with my toddler and to encourage better sleep habits!

Katie was fantastic to work with. Our 2-year-old kept on waking through the night, and she took the time to understand the issues that we were having and guided us through them. Katie came up with really helpful solutions to help us teach her to sleep through the night. Katie’s advice made a difference, and we now have a better understanding of what our daughter needs, and she has been receptive to the new changes. Hopefully will continue well 🙂 thank you!
